MSEUF undertakes University-wide Level I energy audit

In line with its commitment to sustainable operations and responsible energy management, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) has successfully completed a University-wide Level I Energy Audit as an initial step toward achieving greater energy efficiency across all its facilities.

The audit, conducted Feb. 7, complies with the requirements of Republic Act No. 11285 (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act). To ensure accuracy and adherence to national standards, the University engaged the services of PEP-G Electrical, a Department of Energy (DOE)–accredited Energy Service Company (ESCO), with the resulting report signed by a DOE-certified Energy Auditor.

The scope of works for the Level I Energy Audit included:

  • Conducting the audit in compliance with RA 11285

  • Submission of a formal Energy Audit Report by the ESCO

  • Certification of the report by a DOE-certified Energy Auditor

  • Presentation of key findings, which covered:

    • Facility overview, including energy data, usage profiles, and production-related metrics

    • Energy consumption breakdown and analysis

    • Review of performance and efficiency of existing systems

    • Assessment of equipment conditions based on provided data

    • Identification of energy management opportunities with estimated savings

The audit findings were formally presented and discussed during a close-out meeting held on March 27, 2025, attended by Vice President for Administration Atty. Dario R. Opistan, Vice President for Finance Carlito M. Rodriguez, Engr. Ariel V. Nicolas, and Engr. Mark Nel Inojosa. During the meeting, recommendations were made in preparation for a Level II Energy Audit, which will provide a more detailed evaluation and guide the implementation of energy-saving strategies.

MSEUF’s leadership views this milestone as a critical foundation for long-term sustainability efforts. By identifying current energy usage patterns and opportunities for improvement, the University reinforces its commitment to responsible resource management and to supporting national energy efficiency initiatives.
