Comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Program
The General Services Department (GSD) ensures the long-term reliability and safety of the University’s facilities through its Comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Program. This service covers the regular inspection, monitoring, and evaluation of buildings, electrical and plumbing systems, and other essential infrastructure. It also includes scheduled maintenance of electromechanical facilities, air-conditioning units, generator sets, fire safety equipment, water systems, roofs, gutters, and campus grounds, as well as integrated pest control management.
To guarantee systematic and efficient implementation, the program follows a structured Preventive Maintenance Schedule, which outlines specific procedures and their corresponding frequency—from weekly monitoring of generator sets to biannual building inspections, quarterly fire extinguisher servicing, annual equipment checks, and seasonal pest control treatments.
By implementing preventive measures and addressing findings through timely corrective actions, the GSD helps prolong the life and usability of University assets, ensuring that all facilities remain in good working condition to support a safe, functional, and conducive environment for the community.
