MSEUF advances sustainability through clean energy forum participation

The General Services Department of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation strengthened its commitment to sustainable campus development as key personnel joined The Green Shift, a national forum on clean energy and decarbonization in facilities management, on April 28 at Space at One Ayala.
Organized by the Facility Management Organization of the Philippines in partnership with First Gen Corporation, the forum gathered facility managers and industry leaders to discuss practical strategies for sustainable facility operations and energy-efficient management.
Representing MSEUF were Mark Nel Inojosa, electrical engineer, and Ariel Nicolas, director of the General Services Department. Their participation reflected the university’s proactive effort to align campus operations with global sustainability standards and industry best practices.
As one of the pioneer corporate members of FMOP, MSEUF continues to support the advancement of professional facility management standards in the country. The membership also reinforces the university’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence and environmentally responsible campus development.
A key highlight of the forum was the keynote presentation, “A Nation Powered by Green: Building the Facilities Management Industry with Renewable Energy,” delivered by Chiara Angela Blanco, chief energy regulation officer of the Energy Regulatory Commission. The discussion emphasized the role of renewable energy and regulatory support in accelerating the country’s energy transition.
The event also featured a panel discussion titled “The PH Greenprint: Best Practices of Featured Decarbonization Leaders,” which presented sustainability initiatives from industry practitioners, including representatives from Swiss-Belhotel International, Divine Grace Medical Center and Lyceum of the Philippines University Batangas.
Among the major takeaways was the potential of government-supported energy programs, including the Retail Aggregation Program, to help institutions make informed choices in sourcing cleaner and more sustainable power. The program provides opportunities for organizations to aggregate energy demand and explore renewable energy providers through strategic partnerships.
For MSEUF, the insights from the forum may support future steps toward greater energy efficiency, reduced carbon footprint and possible transition pathways to renewable energy sources. The activity also strengthened the university’s direction toward becoming a smarter, greener and more sustainable campus.
The activity reflected MSEUF’s commitment to operational excellence, innovation and environmental responsibility in support of its vision of becoming a globally competitive university. It also upheld the core values of Mindfulness, Excellence and Fortitude as the university continues to pursue sustainable solutions for campus development and long-term institutional growth.
