GSD, HRD holds online awareness seminar on energy management, conservation, RA 11285 Compliance
Through the initiative of the General Services Department (GSD), under the leadership and support of the Office of the Vice President for Administration, and in collaboration with the Human Resource Department (HRD), the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) successfully conducted an Online Awareness Seminar on Energy Management, Conservation, and RA 11285 Compliance, August 14, via Zoom.
The seminar featured Engr. Jeddper De Castro, a member of the Philippine Engineering Practitioners Guild (PEP-G) and a multi-certified professional in the field of energy management.
Engr. De Castro shared his expertise on energy management fundamentals, current trends and common mistakes in energy consumption, and practical strategies to conserve energy and improve efficiency. He also discussed the provisions of RA 11285, the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act, and provided an introduction to ISO 50001 – Energy Management Systems, a globally recognized framework for driving sustainability and reducing energy costs.
This measure is part of a series of projects and activities designed to reduce and properly manage the University’s energy consumption, in line with the commitment of the University through its Certified Energy Manager Engr. Mark Nel Inojosa to strengthen MSEUF’s sustainability practices.
In his opening message, Vice President for Administration Atty. Dario Opistan shared the administration’s full support for initiatives that enhance sustainability and energy awareness in the workplace.
Meanwhile, Engr. Ariel Nicolas, Director of the GSD, emphasized the importance of applying the lessons learned into daily practices to help the University achieve its sustainability goals.
