Grade 12 Day spotlights career marketing innovations

Already nearing the end of Academic Year 2023-2024, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) held its annual Grade 12 Career Festival at the University Gymnasium, May 2.

Organized by the Institutional Marketing and Promotions (IMP) headed by OIC Mark Gaylord Genovaña and in coordination with the Basic Education Department (BED) IMP Coordinator Gabriele Pitahin, the event gave the senior high school graduating students a platform to see the career options MSEUF offers through the creative presentations of the university’s colleges and programs.

From roulette spins for free items to photo booths and exhibits, each college at MSEUF decorated their booths to showcase the essence of their departments and introduce their programs to onlookers.

The College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA) featured artistic works from several students in their department, with notable examples from Bea Kathlin Sumilang’s portfolio. Following suit, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) then appealed to students whose interests lie in philosophy and logic. From the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), a presentation resounded loudly, featuring the department’s achievements and prizes for the audience.

Pushing MSEUFI’s goal to be an IT Education leader, the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies pitched their state-of-the-art facilities and programs to those interested in the field. Meanwhile, the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology presented their department to entice the students to pursue law enforcement-related career paths.

The Maestros and Maestras of the College of Education (CEd) appealed to aspiring future educators through their activity-filled booth and discussions of their programs with the audience, while the College of Engineering (CEng) presented numerous career options and opportunities under MSEUF’s engineering programs in various fields.

Appealing to the interests of aspiring service-industry or tourism students, the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (CIHTM) showcased their local, national, and international achievements alongside their curriculum-rich in opportunities. Focusing on preparing future mariners, the College of Maritime Education (CME) displayed their industry-standard facilities, ensuring mastery for aspiring seafarers. Concluding the presentations, students from the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (CNAHS) demonstrated their department’s equipment through hands-on simulations.

After the presentations, Maria Isabel Granada, Director of the Office of Scholarship, Endowment, Job Placement, and Alumni Relations (OSEJPAR) outlined the university’s various opportunities and scholarship programs catered for outstanding individuals across different fields while Kenezza Gariguez, Admission Officer from the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), addressed admission procedures, requirements, and student concerns related to admission and enrollment.

MSEUFI’s Grade 12 Career Festival proved to be an integral part of the students’ career quest–– helping Envergans find different career fields and choosing the right one appropriate for their skill sets.
