MSEUF strengthens global ties with Indonesian academic partners

In a landmark development for international academic collaboration, the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) forged Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with two prestigious institutions in Jakarta, Indonesia, Feb. 20-22. 

Led by Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa, on behalf of University Chairman of the Board/CEO Wilfrido Enverga and President/COO Naila Leveriza, MSEUF delegates, including Dr. Flormando Baldovino, dean of the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), Dr. Maricel Herrera, dean of the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (CITHM) with Dr. Jennifer Reyes, CITHM department chair, formalized partnerships in separate schedules at GS FAME Institute of Business/Institut Bisnis Nusantara and Universitas Pancasila.

At GS FAME Institute of Business, Dr. MF. Christingrum expressed enthusiasm for collaborative business research, anticipating the institute’s evolution into a university through the partnership with MSEUF. The plans for adding Tourism and Hospitality Management next academic year and initiating a student and faculty exchange program were also discussed during the formal signing of the MOU.

Meanwhile, the MOU signing at Universitas Pancasila saw Rector Dr. Eddie Toet Hendratno and other dignitaries from the university endorsing collaboration on international tourism and hospitality management. The agreement focused on cultural learning and exploration tour programs for students, faculty, and staff. The MOU further solidified research collaboration and partnership.

Dr. Baldovino visited the Institute of Economics and Business of Universitas de Pancasila, where he met his counterpart.  Discussed during the visit were potential collaborations in research, student mobility, and faculty exchange.  Mr. Novi, dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, expressed his hopes that joint academic activities can be undertaken shortly.

 To enhance the exchange program, both universities have committed to observe and participate by October this year. The signing ceremonies featured the national anthems of both nations and audio-visual presentations of their academic programs. 

Furthermore, Dr. Herrera discussed activities and programs that can be undertaken by both faculty and students of BS Tourism and Hospitality Management programs such as events management, travel management, and green tourism.

Meanwhile, VP Jaballa gave a rendition of the song “Dahil sa Iyo” as requested by Rector Hendratno of the Universitas Pancasila. In addition, Dr. Reyes delivered a lecture on Philippine Tourism Outlook on the theme “Exploring Culinary Kinship: A Dive to Philippine Gastronomy” to an audience of 150 Pancasila students in the school's multi-purpose room. Dr. Ir. Sorjini Imran graciously assisted Dr. Reyes who was awarded a certificate of appreciation.

These collaborations marked a significant stride for MSEUF in strengthening its global presence and promoting meaningful connections with esteemed academic institutions in Jakarta, Indonesia.
