Envergans take center stage at ASEAN Festival of Talents

Envergans crossed borders to embody ASEAN countries in their national costumes and dances during the celebration of the 77th Founding Anniversary, transforming the stage in a colorful spectacle of ASEAN Festival of Talents competition, Feb 13, at the University Gymnasium. 

The College of Arts and Sciences representing Indonesia emerged overall champion in cultural performances. Following closely behind was the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology representing Thailand which claimed the second place, while the College of Business and Accountancy representing Malaysia secured the third place. 

In the student ambassador presentations, Lycamae Penarejo of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology representing Thailand took the top spot, Randell Randy Roperez of the College of Arts and Sciences representing Indonesia in second place, and Kirstine De Leon of the College of Business and Accountancy representing Malaysia in third place. 

For the vocal solo category, Mare Christian Sadili, College of Engineering representing Cambodia, clinched first place, with Gadymer Delumen, College of Arts and Sciences, and John Joseph Husana, College of Education representing Philippines, securing the second and third places, respectively. 

In the traditional dance category, the College of Arts and Sciences emerged victorious, securing first place. The College of Criminal Justice and Criminology claimed the second spot, while the College of Business and Accountancy settled for third place. 

Lastly, in the national costume competition, the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology took the top spot representing Thailand, the College of Arts and Sciences in second place representing Indonesia, and the College of Business and Accountancy in third place representing Malaysia. 

The ASEAN Festival of Talents not only showcased the skills of Enverga University students but also fostered a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie among the participating colleges. 

 


The ASEAN Festival of Talents contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals, including: 

  • SDG 4: Quality Education. The event provides a platform for students to showcase their talents and skills, promoting holistic education and personal development beyond traditional academics.
  • SDG 5: Gender Equality. By offering various competitions open to all students, regardless of gender, the festival promotes gender inclusivity and equal opportunities for participation and recognition.
  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities. The event celebrates diversity and inclusivity by highlighting talents from various backgrounds and cultures within the ASEAN region, fostering understanding and appreciation for different perspectives.
