Strengthening career readiness and industry exposure among graduating students, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation formalized a partnership with Amazon through a memorandum of agreement signing and career mentoring activity on Sept. 18 at the Dr. Tobias Y. Enverga Sr. Alumni Hall.

Through the initiative of the Center for Scholarships, Career and Job Placement Services in coordination with the College of Business and Accountancy, fourth-year students participated in career talks and mentoring sessions with Amazon professionals.

CBA alumnus Lexter Bien Babierra, Batch 2010 and an Amazon finance operations manager, shared his professional journey after graduating from MSEUF, including his experiences working with different companies before advancing to his current role. Drawing from his career, Babierra encouraged students to develop their skills through practice, ask thoughtful questions, build professional trust and remain open to opportunities for growth.

“Don’t disqualify yourself before anyone else has a chance to consider you,” Babierra told the students, reminding them not to let uncertainty limit their professional aspirations.

A speed mentoring session allowed students to interact directly with Amazon team leaders in small groups. During 15-minute exchanges, participants asked questions, discussed career concerns and gained practical perspectives from professionals working in the industry.

Maria Isabel Granada, head of the Center for Scholarships, Career and Job Placement Services, facilitated the partnership initiative with support from Alumni Relations Office Head Divinia Glifonea. Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa led the University’s involvement in formalizing the agreement with Amazon.

Through the partnership, MSEUF expanded opportunities for students to connect classroom learning with professional practice while strengthening programs focused on employability, career readiness and engagement with industry.

The activity supported the University’s goal of developing graduates with professionalism, leadership and career-ready competencies by connecting students directly with industry practitioners. It also reflected the core values of Excellence, Service and Fortitude by promoting continuous learning, professional growth and confidence in navigating future career challenges.
