CCJC undergoes CHED onsite evaluation for Center of Excellence renewal

Advancing its pursuit of quality instruction, research and extension, the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation underwent an onsite evaluation by the Commission on Higher Education on Sept. 14 as part of its application to renew its Center of Excellence status.

The CHED validation team included Atty. Ramil Gabao, chairman of the Technical Panel; Dr. Gerry Cano, Technical Panel member; Dr. Buenaventura Macatangay, chief of the Programs Development Division under the CHED Central Office–Office of Programs and Standards Development; Sevilla Guarin of the CHED Central Office–OPSD; and Dr. Christy Liane Niem, CHEDRO supervisor II.

The visit began with an early lunch at CAFE 1947 and a courtesy call with Acting Vice President for Academics and Research Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa, University Treasurer Carlito Rodriguez, University Registrar Lizaminda Regodon and CCJC Dean Dr. Henedina Lagumen.

The validators then proceeded to the CCJC Department, where they met with faculty members to discuss key aspects of the Center of Excellence framework. The team conducted a document validation process and ocular inspection of the college’s facilities as part of the onsite assessment.

The evaluation examined the college’s continuing efforts to sustain a high level of quality in instruction, research and creative work, and extension services. It also formed part of the process of determining the program’s continued capacity to prepare criminology graduates with the knowledge, technical competence and ethical foundation required in criminal justice and related professional practice.

Through the evaluation, CCJC continued its quality assurance efforts and its pursuit of sustained excellence in criminology education, research and community engagement.

The evaluation supported the University’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research and community service through continuous quality assurance and external assessment. It also reflected the core values of Excellence, Mindfulness and Fortitude by encouraging accountability, continuous improvement and sustained professional standards in criminology education.
