MSEUF MARITIME EDUCATION GOES HI-TECH

With the newly installed state of the art Navigation Simulator in the College of Maritime Education at the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, students will have a hands on learning and training as responsible seafarers, the first and only maritime institution to offer in Quezon province.

The Navigation Simulator is aimed for a wide range of Maritime Education and Training (especially RADAR, ARPA Simulator Training and Watch-keeping Exercise), evaluations of Navigator’s visual cognition and assessments of safety navigation.

This simulator consists of the following systems, Instructor System and Briefing system. Two own ship systems are installed on the bridge equipment of ocean going ship and the visual systems (one own ship system has 210 degrees horizontal of view and the other has 90 degrees). Each visual system provides nocturnal, dusk and daylight scenes and permits displays in true perspective, true color, terrain features, waterways, aid to navigation, including light house, beacons and buys.

Additionally, RADAR and ARPA simulator module is to stimulate real RADAR displays with coastline, target and noise echo generated from a three-dimensional database and synchronized to each visual image.

 

Instructor System is a computer station from where the instructor can create, save, run, monitor, store, amended and replay exercises.
