MSEUF promotes water efficiency through sustainable restroom facilities

As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation MSEUF has integrated water-efficient appliances across campus facilities to support its comprehensive Water Conservation Program.

Sustainable water use in campus restrooms

MSEUF has installed dual-flush toilets that allow users to choose between a smaller or full flush volume, reducing unnecessary water consumption. This simple yet effective system ensures that the University minimizes wastage while maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.

The campus is also equipped with button-operated urinals, which flush only when necessary—further conserving water compared to continuous or automatic systems. In line with its vision of sustainable development, the University management plans to transition to waterless urinals for future restroom construction projects, aligning infrastructure upgrades with eco-friendly standards.

Efficiency by the numbers

Out of a total of 637 restroom fixtures on campus, 307 are classified as water-efficient, equivalent to 58% efficiency across all toilet and urinal installations. This includes:

  • 151 of 445 toilets (34%) equipped with dual-flush systems

  • 156 of 192 urinals (81%) designed for efficient water use

These figures highlight MSEUF’s proactive efforts to integrate environmentally conscious design into its daily operations, fostering a culture of sustainability among students, staff, and visitors.

Advancing sustainability through mindful innovation

MSEUF’s initiative to install and expand water-efficient facilities reflects the University’s dedication to Mindfulness, Service, and Excellence. By taking tangible steps toward reducing its environmental footprint, MSEUF continues to champion responsible consumption and operational sustainability in higher education.
