MSEUF ensures safe and sustainable use of treated water across campus facilities
Upholding its commitment to sustainability and public health, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation MSEUF continues to implement effective measures for the use and treatment of water within the University. These practices ensure that all members of the Envergan community have access to clean and safe water while maintaining the institutions commitment to environmental responsibility.

Treated water in the university’s Olympic-sized swimming pool
Located in the Botanical Garden area, MSEUF’s Olympic-sized swimming pool serves as a prime example of responsible water management. With a dimension of 25 meters by 50 meters and a depth of approximately 5.5 meters, the pool can hold about 7,000 cubic meters of water, sourced from a deep well within the same area.
The pool accommodates around 500–600 students daily during Physical Education swimming classes. To maintain water quality, the University follows a strict treatment process — using sodium bisulfate and chlorine to balance pH levels and ensure clarity. Additionally, daily filtration is conducted through ten filter drums containing sand and Dicalite powder (flux-calcined diatomaceous earth), effectively keeping the water clean and safe for use.
Safe drinking water for the Envergan community
MSEUF also prioritizes safe hydration through its 33 water drinking stations strategically located across colleges and departments. Water supplied to these stations comes from local concessionaires and undergoes chlorination treatment before reaching the campus.
To further ensure safety and purity, the University employs an additional ultraviolet light disinfection process, which eliminates microbiological contaminants before the water is dispensed. This dual treatment system guarantees that students, faculty, and employees can access safe and high-quality drinking water daily.
A culture of sustainability and well-being
MSEUF’s commitment to using treated water responsibly reflects its dedication to Mindfulness and Excellence—core values that guide the University’s sustainability initiatives. By combining environmental awareness with health and safety measures, MSEUF continues to create a learning environment that promotes both well-being and ecological balance.
