Enverga University joined regional leaders during the Health Research and Development Consortium (HRDC) CALABARZON Annual Operational Planning at the SotoGrande Hotel Katipunan to help shape the 2026 health research agenda for Region IV-A, Jan. 29–30.
Engr. Roselyn Maaño, director of the Research Publication and Incubation Center, and Dr. Maria Corazon Valdeavilla, dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences and chair of the University Research Ethics Committee of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation participated on behalf of the University.
The two-day activity gathered representatives from the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development, the Department of Health CHD IV-A, the Department of Science and Technology CALABARZON and various higher education institutions and hospitals.
Participants reviewed regional priorities and aligned initiatives with the Philippine National Health Research System and the HRDC CALABARZON Strategic Plan for 2025–2028.
The workshop featured presentations on national research frameworks and services, followed by committee-level planning sessions involving the four Technical Working Committees: Capacity Building, Research Information and Utilization, Research and Development Management, and Ethics. The committees translated strategic goals into measurable targets and finalized the FY 2026 Operational Plan, including a consolidated Work and Financial Plan.
Organizers also developed the Institutional Development Activities proposal, which leaders identified as key to resuming full consortium operations and sustaining long-term health research initiatives in the region.
The activity concluded with a call for member institutions to move from planning to mission-driven implementation.
Through their participation, Maaño and Valdeavilla reinforced MSEUF’s active role in advancing ethical, innovative and collaborative health research in CALABARZON.
The participation of MSEUF administrators demonstrated the University’s commitment to Excellence, Service and Fortitude by contributing expertise to regional health research planning. It also advanced the institution’s vision of global competitiveness through strategic engagement with national research bodies and partner institutions.
