Banyuhay alumni establish association chapter, elect first officers

Strengthening alumni engagement and long-term support for the University community, former members of the Banyuhay Dance Troupe gathered on Aug. 29 at the College of Education Dance Studio to begin the establishment of the Banyuhay Alumni Association Chapter and elect its first set of officers.
The initiative was led by Dr. Divinia Glifonea, head of the Alumni Relations Office; Darios Virrey, head of the Center for Sports; and Arleen Carmona, founder and former adviser of the Banyuhay Dance Troupe. Alumni from different batches also joined the activity, including online participants.
During the meeting, organizers presented the rationale for establishing the chapter as part of efforts to strengthen alumni participation and involvement in University activities. The program also included a short meeting with current Banyuhay members and a fellowship among alumni.
The alumni elected Allan Enverga as president; Carmelo Arnel Tiama as vice president for internal affairs; Warren Alcantara as vice president for external affairs; Sharmaine Padilla Avilla as secretary for external affairs; Crisnard Luna Tarog as secretary for internal affairs; King Benedick Sante as treasurer; Ghen Hernandez as auditor; and Errol Paguio as social media manager.
The newly organized chapter identified possible future activities, including fundraising projects, scholarship assistance for deserving children of Banyuhay alumni, a dance concert and continued support for current Banyuhay members.
The officers are scheduled to take their oath on Sept. 12 at the Dr. Tobias Y. Enverga Alumni Center, marking the formal start of the chapter’s leadership and planned initiatives.
The establishment of the Banyuhay Alumni Association Chapter supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s efforts to strengthen alumni engagement and transform continued affiliation into meaningful participation and support. It also reflected the core values of Service and Unity by encouraging alumni to contribute to fellowship, student support and long-term community involvement.
