MSEUF Dancesport Team earns multiple awards in Cebu Open, National Championship
Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Dancesport Team achieved multiple podium finishes at the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) Cebu Open 2025 and the Philippine DanceSport Federation (PDSF) 3rd Quarter National Championship held August 22–24 at the Pacific Grand Ballroom, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, and Casino.
University pairs and high school representatives competed in standard and Latin categories, placing in local and international brackets.
Gian Franco P. Hernandez and Cairistiona Catriona T. Surio secured first place in Special Event 1D and Special Event 1C, while finishing fifth in both Grade C and Grade B.
Fillip Zander P. Hernandez and Frances Heleana T. Buta placed first in Grade D2 Standard, second in Grade D1 Standard, and second in the National Inter-Collegiate C Standard.
Carl Jeffrey P. Desamiro and Krissom Ariem D. Palima won second place in the Inter-Collegiate C Latin and third in Grade D2 Latin (Samba, Rumba), while finishing seventh in Grade D1 Latin (Cha-cha, Rumba) and fifteenth in Grade C.
Jefferson Mark U. Reyes and Kim Irish P. Zoleta placed eleventh in the Inter-Collegiate C Latin and eighteenth in Grade D1 Latin.
Steven Lester Sermaña and Julieanna Mae Martinez ranked fourth in Youth A Standard, third in Youth Open Standard, seventh in Youth A Latin, and fourth in Youth 10 Dance.
From the high school division, Cye Emanuelle C. Jaringa collected multiple placements, including first in Open B and Open A Solo Standard Junior II, fourth in Open B and Open A Solo Standard Junior, and ninth in Open A Solo Latin Junior.
Chalmer Adams placed twenty-first in Solo Latin Youth D2 and nineteenth in Solo Latin Youth B, while Mayumi De Galicia placed seventh in Junior 1A Standard and sixth in Junior A Standard.
Jhen Chrisel N. Profeta achieved third place in Solo Youth B (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep) and Solo Youth A (Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep).
“Our athletes performed with discipline and passion. Their achievements reflect their dedication and the support of the University,” said acting coach Liezl Villadiego. Assistant coach Gian Franco Hernandez added, “We are grateful for the opportunity to represent MSEUF on the national and international stage.”
The competition drew dancers from across the country and highlighted the importance of arts, culture, and sports as integral to youth development.
The achievements of the Dancesport Team support MSEUF’s mission to provide responsive programs for holistic education, align with the vision of producing globally competitive graduates, and reflect the core values of excellence, fortitude, and unity.
