DSWD cites MSEUF ‘Panata ko sa Bayan’ awards
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) honored the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) at the PANATA KO SA BAYAN AWARDS, Feb. 15, in celebration of the 73rd Anniversary of DSWD at the Batangas Provincial Auditorium in Batangas City.
Dubbed “Angels in Red Vests” with core values of Empathy in Action, Integrity in Service, and Unity in Community, MSEUF Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa and Director Milagrosa Lawas of the Community Relations Department accepted the award on behalf of the University President/COO Naila Leveriza.
The award was presented by DSWD Region IV-A Director Dr. Barry R. Chua and Director Mylar S. Gatchailian, ARD for Operations and chairperson of the Panata Awards Committee.
MSEUF was recognized for its outstanding contributions among the 57 awardees in various categories. MSEUF’s commitment to community welfare was highlighted, as it actively supports the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in the adopted barangay of Dalahican in Lucena City. The university engages in impactful initiatives, such as providing lectures on livelihood for male espouses, empowering women, and distributing school supplies to underprivileged school children.
The PANATA KO SA BAYAN AWARDS aims to inspire individuals, groups, and organizations to devote their time, resources, and selves to enhance service delivery and create better opportunities across various sectors. MSEUF’s recognition underscores its significant role in assisting DSWD in fulfilling its mandate to improve lives and provide better opportunities for the disadvantaged, and vulnerable sectors of society.
SGD 1: No Poverty – MSEUF’s initiatives, such as supporting the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and aiding underprivileged communities, directly address the goal of eradicating poverty and promoting economic well-being.
Additionally, MSEUF’s commitment to community welfare and empowerment aligns with other SGDs, including SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality), as the University engages in activities that uplift and empower various sectors of society.
