Enverga University received the Certificate of Excellence in Sustainable Agriculture Event for the 1st Quezon Coffee Expo 2024 at the 1st Asia Pacific Responsible Event Awards held during the 2nd Asia Pacific Summit for Event Leaders at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic, May 23.
Dr. Maricel D. Herrera, dean of the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (CIHTM), accepted the award on behalf of the organizers.
“This award represents the dedication of our students and faculty in applying sustainable practices in real-world settings,” Dr. Herrera said. “We are proud to elevate Quezon’s local industries while preparing our students to become responsible professionals.”
Selected BS Hospitality Management students organized the Quezon Coffee Expo held on Nov. 15–16, 2024, under the supervision of faculty member Analuna E. Bonina. Georgia De Gala and Ron Perer Pabellano, both affiliated with the expo as founder and co-founder, respectively, led the event alongside partners Cuppa Hooch, Youngbloods Barista, the Office of the Provincial Tourism, and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist of Quezon.
The award recognized the expo’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through its focus on local agriculture, responsible tourism, and youth engagement in hospitality management.
“Our students showed that sustainable development and tourism promotion can go hand in hand,” Bonina said.
- The recognition aligns with MSEUF’s mission to develop globally competitive professionals committed to nation-building and service. The University’s educational philosophy and core values—truth, excellence, leadership, and service—guided the planning and implementation of the event.
