MSEUF receives 'NAMCYA Special Award for Exemplary Partnership'

The National Music Competitions for Young Artists, Inc. (NAMCYA) in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and Arts and the Cultural Center of the Philippines awarded the NAMCYA Special Award for Exemplary Partnership to Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) during the 2024 NAMCYA: Salinlahing Musika Closing Ceremonies & Concert of Winners at the Metropolitan Theater, Manila City, Nov. 24.

Vice President for External Relations (VPER) Celso Jaballa and MSEUF Concert Singers Choirmaster and Adviser Hubert Loresto and Maria Isabel Granda accepted the award on behalf of University President and Chief Operating Officer Naila Leveriza and Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chief Executive Officer Wilfrido Enverga.

VPER Celso Jaballa delivered an acceptance speech during the event, highlighting Enverga University's unwavering commitment to cultural preservation and artistic excellence.

"As passionate stewards of cultural preservation, Enverga University aligns deeply with NAMCYA's noble mission. Through our initiatives, particularly in groundbreaking research such as Quezon Studies, and by nurturing and honing the artistic talents of our students, we strive to illuminate and honor the stories, artistry, and traditions that define our identity as a people," VPER Jaballa said.

The award recognized MSEUF's support and collaboration as a key partner in the Southern Luzon Regional Cluster Semifinals. Since September 2022, MSEUF has hosted hundreds of young Filipino musicians who participated in NAMCYA’s regional competitions.

The university also served as the venue for the NAMCYA Voice Clinic and Choir Workshop in July 2023, providing space for young artists to improve their skills and talents.

NAMCYA representatives highlighted the university’s vital role in ensuring the success of its activities in the region. In their words, MSEUF served as an "integral part of the Southern Luzon Regional Cluster Semifinals," fostering a sense of community among aspiring musicians.

Executive Vice President Dr. Benilda Villenas expressed gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the university's commitment to arts and culture.

"Hosting NAMCYA events aligns with our mission to support Filipino talent and to contribute to the development of music and the arts in the country. We are proud to be part of this program that uplifts young artists and gives them a platform to grow."

Dr. Villenas also shared the university's vision for arts advocacy. "We believe that the arts are a powerful tool for personal and community development. This partnership reflects our commitment to providing opportunities for young musicians to achieve their dreams and to preserve our cultural heritage."

Through its continued support of programs like NAMCYA, MSEUF strengthens its role in advancing arts education and providing opportunities for the youth to excel.
