The College of Criminal Justice and Criminology of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation launched the Student Learning Community Tutoring program through the Learning Development Center, May 21.

Fergelyn Canonigo led the implementation of the program to strengthen student learning through peer tutoring and collaborative study sessions.

Canonigo said the initiative aimed to support students in reinforcing core concepts and building study skills through structured peer engagement.

The program introduced four learning coaches: Josh Riley De Torres, Junell Mateo Letargo, Elijah Rodriguez, and Crisford Eduard Villapando. The college trained the student leaders in tutoring methods, communication skills, and academic mentoring to prepare them for their roles.

Canonigo also shared the program would continue to develop learning opportunities for criminology students while promoting student leadership and accountability.

The college linked the initiative to Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) by improving access to peer-based learning, 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by supporting students with diverse academic needs, and 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by preparing future professionals in criminal justice with stronger academic foundations.
