Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, through its Data Protection Office, participated in the 8th Legal Management Conference at Savoy Hotel Manila to strengthen institutional systems in data privacy management, regulatory compliance and emerging digital legal practices, May 15-17.

The three-day conference gathered legal practitioners and data protection officers from across the country for sessions focused on developing strong privacy management programs, designing comprehensive privacy manuals and ensuring compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

Engr. Katrina Avillo, MSEUF data protection officer, represented the University during the national assembly. Her participation provided MSEUF with updated insights that can support stronger security measures, policy development and responsible data management across university operations.

The conference covered key issues in contemporary data protection, including AI-driven legal searches, immediate response measures after cyber attacks and the creation of data protection policies tailored to specific sector needs.

The program concluded with a discussion led by Virgilio Dolina Jr., Adrem projects manager, who presented a compliance checklist aligned with National Privacy Commission requirements. He also emphasized the important role of data protection officers in guiding institutional processes and strengthening data systems.

Through the activity, MSEUF reaffirmed its commitment to responsible institutional governance, proactive digital citizenship and stronger compliance systems in an increasingly data-driven environment.
