Abstract

The researchers conducted the study about the Decision Factor of Job Order Contractual Employees to stay in their workplace in order to gain knowledge on what are the factors why they stay in the institution. Before they decided to make this research, they gathered some information from some of the employees in the City Government of Lucena about what is the main factor why they stay in the institution. Based on the findings most answer of the employees was compensation because they work hard in order to earn money to support the needs of their families. The researchers decided to come up of this research to know aside from the compensation, other decision factor that can affect to the employee to stay in their work. They based the study on Herzberg‘s Two Factor Theory to identify the six factors that could affect employee retention in the city government. The researchers used the descriptive quantitative method of research. This design was useful for this study because this aimed to demonstrate relationship between different aspects of professionals working in a service provider company and employee motivation. The researchers also used a survey form as an instrument for their research, to identify the most important factor why employees stay in the company and used weighted mean and percentage as the statistical analysis. After the interpretation and analysis, researchers concluded that compensation was the main factor that affect the employee retention because of the reward based system of the organization, satisfaction of the benefits provided and the reward distribution is easier faster and more efficient.
