Abstract
This study aimed to determine the relationship of classroom environment to the academic
competence of marine transportation students. This study was conducted to 25 marine
transportation students as respondents. A questionnaire made by the researchers was used in this
study, making use of five point Likert scale to describe the responses. The researchers
formulated a questionnaire, in order to assess the response of the students. The demographic
profile of the respondents was also determined. The present study assessed the grades of the
respondents in their subjects and sought how classroom environment affect alertness of the
students in class. It was tallied, reviewed, tabulated, coded and analyzed using different
statistical tools. Simple percentage formula is employed to characterize the demographic profile
of the respondents.
