Completed2019

Abstract

This study focused on the influence of single parenting to the psychosocial development of young adolescents. In achieving the objectives of the study, the researcher used an interview protocol to identify the life stories of the coresearchers of the study. The life stories and data were analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). The credibility of the data were assured by applying member-checking, peer checking, and data triangulation method. Results showed that the young adolescents have a positive outlook on solo parenting, although one of the main problems encountered is financial constraint. However, their solo parent never deprived them to provide support to their children. A positive influence also showed in the life stories of the co-researchers in the psychosocial development of young adolescents.
