CONFLICT MANAGEMENT STYLES OF MEN AND WOMEN SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN SELECTED PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract
The main goal of the study was to determine the conflict management styles
of men and women administrators in selected educational institutions in the 2nd
district of Quezon. The study also sought to analyze the common problems that
administrators encounter and how they find solutions to it through a descriptivecomparative type of research. It also aimed to determine the significant differences
of the conflict management styles being used by the administrators. Survey
questionnaire was used to elicit responses from 10 school administrators and 191
teachers. Frequency, weighted mean, correlation, and t-test were used as statistical
treatment.
Results revealed that male and female school administrators often encounter
issue and role conflicts in their school and very often use collaborating style to
resolve conflicts. There is a significant difference in the conflict management styles
of male and female school administrators although the difference cannot be
attributed to their gender alone.
