A Bathymetric Map for a 1.2 kilometers Bridge Construction between Quezon, Quezon and Lopez, Quezon
Area of Research
Abstract
The Province of Quezon is rich in every aspect such as economy, tourism,
agriculture, and culture. Although, there is a room for improvement, within the
Quezon Province are island municipalities that are inaccessible through land
transportation. Among these municipalities are Alabat, Perez, and Quezon, Quezon.
This study aims to provide the initial requirement in providing land
transportation to the municipalities by means of preparing a bathymetric map for the
proposed 1.2 km bridge from Lopez, Quezon to Quezon, Quezon.
This study focuses on preparing a bathymetric map to be used for a 1.2 km
bridge via performing a hydrographic survey to measure the depth of the seas and
area to be covered by the path at which the bridge will be built.
Among the concepts considered in performance of this study are the standard
procedures in performing a hydrographic survey, general knowledge on the use of the instruments to be used in the survey, knowledge on computer software such as
AutoLandDesktop and drafting of bathymetric map are applied as well.
This study contains the designed and developed bathymetric and profile maps
of the area between Quezon, Quezon and Lopez, Quezon which was prepared using
the gathered data via GPS receiver and was prepared using the AutoLandDesk
application automatically.
