Abstract

"The popularity of mobile devices has spread like wild fire since 2000’s where a lot of improvement to portable telephony was develop, ever since that year it quickly become a necessity for almost every human being – labeled as “a must has item”. Eventually mobile application was developing to match the requisites of todays’ fast phase modern technology. And today almost everything that a person need is available in mobile application from simple alarm clock to calorie tracking, from navigation to social media application and anything that one can think of. This availability is what the proponents took advantage for the proposed project. The proponents dare to develop a mobile application that will surely help a lot of people, especially college students who’s struggling in English subject, specifically on Speech. The main idea is to formulate a new learning tool that will encourage students to study and practice their English-speaking ability in an exciting manner. Mobile applications are available around the clock, app learning is not time-bound learning, its relaxed learning. The proposed application allows the interaction between the human and the computer through the use of Speech Recognition technology. This project aims to deliver a deep teaching of the right pronunciations and oral communication through the installed lessons and step by step demonstration with a user-friendly interface. In using the mobile application, the users learn from the 6 different lectures with entertaining demonstrations and animations. And six (6) interactive activities that surely enjoyable to answer. After the successful development, the mobile application underwent testing and evaluation. It was tested to determine the usability and how reliable it is. Based from the testing the mobile application was found out usable and reliable as being a supplementary tool on a book. On the contrary, the respondents rated the mobile app as an acceptable tool to aid the learning of Speech and Oral Communication"
