Brush Rush: A Mobile Game Application for Promoting Oral Health Awareness
Abstract
"Game-based learning has a really constructive way that can enhance the students learning
process and improve retention through playing. With the increasing number of mobile device
users, it makes a good opportunity to use technology as an innovative learning tool. The use of
game-based applications is a helpful strategy in order to gain the interest of the users in learning.
Game allows learners to expose themselves with selected topics by repeatedly using it.
The proponents developed a mobile game-based application for promoting oral health
awareness. The game was developed using Unity 3D with the aid of Android SDK to make it
compatible to android devices. In designing the game interfaces proponents used the appropriate
tool for designing which is the Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS6.
After successful development, the application underwent testing and evaluation. It was
tested in various devices to seek compatibility considerations. Based from the testing, the game
was found out to be more suitable in android versions of kitkat and lollipop and above with a dual
or quad core processor. On the other hand, the respondents rated the game as an acceptable
application for this research study showed that Brush Rush was successfully developed and
attained its main objective to be a tool for promoting oral health awareness."
