"UnangHakbang: A Tagalog Game-Based Learning Mobile Application For Pre-Schoolers"
Abstract
"UnangHakbang is a game based e-learning application using Tagalog which would be very
helpful to those students who encounter struggles in reading and pronouncing Tagalog words. They
could learn and entertain themselves at the same time while playing. This was developed to become
a learning tool for preschooler students to help improve their reading, listening and speaking skills
as well. This application could be played not just in school but also at home.
The ‘UnangHakbang’ was developed using the appropriate development software tools:
Adobe Flash was used for the development; Adobe Photoshop was used for designing the interfaces
of the game; and Android SDK for the testing and fitting of the designs to an android. After the
development of the game, it was tested by the chosen respondents and to different android versions.
Anyone can play the game because it is free and does not need any internet connection.
After the development, the proponents proceed to the testing and evaluation of the game
which result is that the game was an acceptable tool for learning Tagalog for preschoolers."
