Logistic Management in Selected Police Station in the First District of Quezon Province

Abstract

Logistics is an idea considered to have transformed from the military’s need to supply them as they moved from their base to a forward position. This research study sought to determine the present condition of logistic and supplies of the selected police station in the first district of Quezon province, especially in prevention of crimes and maintenance of peace and order in the community. Based on the data gathered the following findings are derived: That majority of the respondents were college graduate with frequency of 25 or 100%; 40% of respondents were P01; 24% of them were P02; 52% has a length of service of 1-5 years; 20% of them were 6-10 years and 21-up; Allocation of equipment obtained frequency of 4.36 agreed that equipments and supply were properly documented; and least effective in providing of service firearms with frequency of 2.56; conditioning of the firearms obtained the lowest weighted mean of 4.04. Inventory of equipments obtained a weighted arithmetic mean of 4.60 interpreted as most effective. Logistic management problem revealed financial resources as number one problems. Conclusion drawn were as follows: Majority of respondents were college graduate, rank as PO1, with 1 to 5 years of service; Allocation of equipments and supply were properly documented and recorded; Inspection and monitoring of supply and equipment of the PNP personnel service equipment has ARE’s permit and renewed yearly; Inventory of equipment and supply were regularly made; Problems regarding logistic management revealed that financial resources were major problem of each station. Recommendations include seminar as is highly recommended by the researchers to increase the awareness on proper documentation and technical aspects. A system must be build to come up with a plan on how to organize the monitoring process. Resources need to be well documented and a certain process within the organization. Inventory protocol must be created to deal with the problems of losing tract with some of the equipment. Budget is a major concern in the logistics management, thus researcher recommends the proper allocation of resources.
