Abstract

This study determined the Use of Solvent and Volatile Substance of Minors: Implication to Crime Rate and Crime Prevention in Barangay Dalahican, Lucena City. The study is descriptive type of research, which employed content analysis to gather data. The study was conducted in Barangay Dalahican, Lucena City. One hundred (100) respondents who were part of this study came from the residents of Barangay Dalahican, Lucena City. Percentage was used as statistical tool. Results revealed that according to the respondents the Use of Solvent and Volatile Substance of Minors: Implication to Crime Rate and Crime Prevention in Barangay Dalahican, Lucena City the total average mean the respondents has shown the knowledge of the dangerous chemicals taken by the minors that affect the health and behavior of the minors. It was revealed that the residents have the same perception in terms of the ability of the Barangay Police to protect the minors in Barangay Dalahican as well as the residents by patrolling the facilities in the Barangay, also the respondents were satisfied in the effectiveness of the Barangay Police in regulating the streets and harbor in Barangay Dalahican, Lucena City. The most factors to prevent the use of solvents and volatile substance of minors that the Barangay Officials give seminars about the dangerous effect of solvents and volatile substance to the health and wellbeing of the user. Pre-caution or warning to all the residents Barangay Dalahican that the solvent and volatile substances are chemical that have dangerous effect to the health, so that misuse will be avoided. Since the study is detected the Use of Solvent and Volatile Substance of Minors: Implication to Crime Rate and Crime Prevention in Barangay Dalahican, Lucena City, it is most recommended that the Barangay Officials should orient the residents about the danger effect to health of the minor.
