Level of Awareness, Access and application of meteorological phenomena by Indigenous Communities

Abstract
This study will assess the level of awareness, access and application of meteorological phenomena by the indigenous and coastal communities in Quezon. Indigenous knowledge and practices by the Aetas, Dumagats, Badjaos and coastal communities in combating meteorological hazards such as typhoon, drought and flood, storm surge will be studied. The researchers will find out how these indigenous knowledge can help in disaster-risk reduction and climate change adaptation.
The result of the study will enhance the capability of the communities in combating meteorological hazards and climate change related impacts. Propose action programs on how to integrate indigenous knowledge in education and projects for disaster-risk reduction and climate change adaptation will be the final output of this study.
