Facebook use and its effect on the Health Behaviors of selected nursing students

Abstract
This study focused on the investigation of the effects of Facebook use on the health behaviors of selected nursing students. It attempted to determine the relationship of the respondents’ demographic profile, Facebook usage, and health behaviors. Utilizing a descriptive correlational approach, the study was participated by fifty (50) nursing students who were randomly chosen from first year to fourth year. Self-made questionnaire was used . Findings revealed that the students used Facebook on a timely basis ( if it is needed only). However , in terms of the length of use, it revealed that they use it for more than 2 hours indicating a very high qualitative description. In terms of health behaviors of the respondents' physical activity, sleeping and eating patterns and body elimination were determined.
Findings revealed that among the health behaviors, eating patterns and body elimination were found to have significant findings in relation to Facebook use.
