Police Community Relations (PCR) of Philippine National Police Personnel in Precinct II, Lucena City as Perceived by Residents of Ibabang Iyam

This study aimed to determined the level of awareness of Police Community Relation (PCR) of Philippine National Police Personnel in Precinct II, Lucena City as perceived by residents of Ibabang Iyam.The gathering of data was in different purok in Brgy.Ibabang Iyam, Lucena City.A total of 100 respondents who are at the age ranging from 25 years old above and a resident of the said barangay are the one who are made to answer the prepared questionnaire. Based on the findings the respondents perception on the level of awareness towards Police Community Relations (PCR) as one of the PNP function, they acknowledged the police function of maintaining peace and order as the number one function of policemen while creating a mutually supportive relationship between their agency and the community they serve and the idea that policemen have enough knowledge of their job. All these reflect a positive leaning and that the respondents are well aware of what policemen should do; Moreover, the respondents perception towards the PNP’s Community Relations Programs its impact as it brings peace and order in the community the respondents have positively acknowledged that characteristics, personal appearance and station as the key-players in Police Community Relations. that this has an impact on how PCR will be implemented in bringing about peace and order in the community; That the policemen in Precinct II of Ibabang Iyam in Lucena City are carrying out their functions properly in bringing about better Community Relations More importantly, the perception of respondents towards effective PCR as it Maintain Peace and Order in Ibabang Iyam, Lucena City the respondents gave a positive perception that PCR has an impact on maintaining peace and order in Ibabang Iyam. The different values were highly acknowledged by the respondents such as service, cooperation and social. Since the Lucena City Police Station specifically Precicnt II is concerned, it is recommended that that Police Community Relation be strictly enforced and implemented in all precincts of PNP, thru consistent and frequent contact and interaction with the community by the members of the PNP in each precint inasmuch as it bring positive result in maintaining cooperation from the community and indispensable peace and order
