The correlates of entry into the nursing course among selected group of freshmen students in Quezon Province

Abstract
The study was conducted to assess and investigate the different factors that relate and contribute to the entry of students into the nursing program. Participants of the study were the select group of freshmen students in the different Colleges of Nursing in Quezon Province who were enrolled in the First Semester of SY 2014-2015 Data were analyzed utilizing the percentage and frequency distribution , weighted mean and Pearson Moment Correlation Coefficient. Findings of the study revealed that the factors that influence the choice of the nursing program were personal factors followed by familial influence and lastly peer influence. This study also revealed a significant relationship between the demographic profile of the respondents and the factors influencing their choice of taking up and entry to the nursing program.
