Abstract

Venniese E. Abdon, Gilbert R. Galit, Dharen L. Guinto and Rizabel P. Pastoral. A Design of Building Locator Information System. Unpublished Proposed Study for the Degree Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, College of Engineering and Technical Department, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, Lucena City, March 2015 This project is an interactive of Building Locator and Information System that allow the students, employees, visitors and new comers to gather basic information regarding to the location of buildings and rooms in the university. Included in the program is the full map and floor plan of each Department in the university. The proponents observe that new students and visitors have a hard time in locating building and rooms. The cause of this problem is the lack of sense of direction and inconvenience in providing paper maps. As this problem exists the proponent thought of an idea on how locating buildings will be more efficient. The proponents arrived at the idea of designing Building Locator Information System. The system consists of touch panel, LCD monitor, central processing unit and power supply. The program language that is used in the project is Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 because this programming language is the one that is easier to use, The research finding of all the data of the system is composed of recommendation that enumerate the list of possible improvements and application of the prototype design. In the overall evaluation of the prototype, almost all the respondents strongly agreed that the system is functional based of the survey and questionnaires conducted by the researchers.
