The study is a qualitative and developmental research. It complies with the basic technical
requirements of the materials testing and design. The researchers include disciplines and
processes in designing a roof tile which is based on various codes and laws related to civil
engineering such as the National Structural Code of the Philippines and the American Society for
Testing and Materials is also applied. The supporting specifications attached are sufficient in the
final implementation of the design. The specification gives the profile, composition, nominal size
of the tile, pitch, and head lap, side lap, batten spacing and unit weight. Using simple costing
method in estimating the quantity of materials and computing all the necessary materials and
equipment used based on the current price and rate of labor and considering the activities to be
done, the researchers arrived at an amount of Php 15.50 per piece as estimated cost.
