The baby walker is a wheeled device that can be used by infants who cannot walk on
their own to move from one place to another or the one who started to learn walking. Many
parents try to keep a baby entertained by placing the infant in a walker. But recently baby
walkers have faces different controversy for being unsafe, walkers can easily tip over, travel
down the stairs and it can propel a baby into unsafe objects.
The project study focuses on the safety of infants when using the traditional baby walker.
Through this prototype, parents can lessen their supervision to their children upon using it. The
prototype features include a microcontroller and a series of sensors that will be used for detecting
obstructions, and a dc motors that will guide the wheels of the baby walker to a safer place.
This prototype can solve many problems on how to manage and to supervise for the
safety of the infants. It can solve baby walker related accidents such as bumping of the baby
walker inside the premises of the house and falling to the vicinity of the house such as stairs and
other cliff areas. This might be the solution to the increasing number baby walker related
accidents nowadays.
