Emanuel S. Almozara, Alezelle F. Briones, John Darrell D. Indonila, Darrel P. Magsino, Charlaine Madel A. Oriacel. ?A Proposed 8th-Storey Resilient Complex Building?. Unpublished Project Study for the Degree Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, March 2015. In line with the rapid increase and continuous global climate change, our world is plagued with substantial natural disasters; it becomes harder to predict the severity of weathering that will occur at different locations across the globe as well as how it will ultimately affect the buildings. Engineers start to develop design ideas that requires a shift on our current understanding of what constituted a good buiding design thus, leading the researchers to propose an 8-storey resilient complex building which the researchers believe, will help lessen the loss of life in case any inevitable situation occurs. The main objective of this project study is to produce and develop design that ensures the safety and functionality of the structure; to prevent loss of life and property and lessen the damages induced by natural catastrophic events; and create an environment that are livable, comfortable, safe and preoductive. The study concenrates on the design development of an 8-storey complex building based on design codes, standards and specification required in the structure components with all possible combination of the proposed structural design computation of the proposed structure using Ultimate Strength Design, National Building Code of the Philippines, National Structural Code of the Philippines (2010 version), ACI (318-08) Codes, and existing laws and regulations of Pagbilao, Quezon Engineering Office. RESILIENT COMPLEX BUILDING 18 Using simple costing method in estimating the quantity of materials and computing all the necessary materials and equipment used based on the current price and rate of labor and considering the activities to be done, the researchers arrive to the probable cost of the 8-storey resilient complex building of 219,693,593.40 pesos. The researchers recommend the implementation of the construction of the proposed design of the 8-storey resilient complex building with the location to be taken into consideration.
