Pamela C. Aranilla, Micko Janil L. De Silva, Rosse Anne C. Jimenez, Cris Jimson B. Pastrana and John Daryll J. Reyes. A design of an underground water reservoir in Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, Lucena City. Unpublished Project Study for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, March 2015.
Water is a crucial part in any person’s life and it goes without saying that the water
supply in a community is very important. A poor supply of water is a big problem, sustainability
and the efficiency of water for the community from time to time is important to meet the
populations’ daily needs and consumption. This project study aims to have an alternative source
of water that people can use in their lives and also a reserve in case of water shortage.
Upon research and observation, the researchers had found out that there is a possibility of
scarcity in water in the future; having limited amount of water originates from over consumption
of some people, over population and sometimes poor water supply. From the result of the
conducted research, the researchers primarily chose the said university because it is similar mto a
community due to the large number of students and employees before applying it into a much
larger community; the proponents yearned for developing the underground water reservoir as an
alternative source of water as an aid in the water supply.
The underground reservoir is composed of parts that have their own general functions,
water tank and pump, which will be used to make the reservoir and will allow it to perform its
desired function which is to be an alternative source of water. There are some specifications that
we followed such as the USDA and the AASHTO to keep track of what’s right for every given
occasion and the terms to be met for the success of the project.
