Abstract

Every great civilization and era is described by their great Architecture, but would not survive without agriculture. The introduction of green architecture pushes designers and architects to pay tribute to the great contributor to the human existence, the agriculture. The issue of sustainability takes the number one requirement in designing buildings and structures nowadays. It has become the basis of good and beneficial designs. This research explores ways of achieving an effective sustainable Biophilic Architecture. The development of Kalilayan Agritourism Hub in Ilayang Dupay Lucena City will accommodate different activities such as farming activities, farm education, tourism and accommodation. The focus of the study of agriculture to the structures will be through the use of Agritektura which will employ Intensive Green Roofing System and Agri-Walls. The purpose of this research will hopefully revive the Agriculture and Tourism Industry of Lucena City and at the same time benefit the local economy and restore the city’s fading cultural heritage through Architectural solutions and methodologies.
