Abstract

This study delves into the process of personality development among maritime students at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation. An in-depth review of literature about the personality development of cadets that may help them for future company employment, including factors that affect their personality and ways how to improve it. A Quantitative descriptive method approach that incorporates surveys, An interview was conducted to gather the insights of the maritime professors such as the Captain, Chief Engineer, and On-Board training office that helps in formulating the instrument for the survey, data collection is done through the use of a survey in which 60 maritime students partake, the researchers used stratified random sampling for BSMT and BSMARE, 30 respondents each in the said program makes up for the 60 respondents. The research instrument is conducted using questionnaires which is costly but more effective and efficient than using Google Forms. Cadets' personality development is profoundly influenced by their cultural environment. Culture acts as a guiding force, shaping social relationship,attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors within the military context. In a maritime institution, cadets 'views on authority, discipline, teamwork, and leadership are molded by cultural norms, traditions, and practices. Exposure to diverse cultural backgrounds helps cadets become more adaptable and culturally aware, enriching their personal development and enhancing their performance as future leaders in various operational contexts.
