Modification Design of Threshing and Drying Machine for Pepper Production

Abstract

Pepper is traditionally threshed by hand and dried in the sun. The methods frequently lead to low efficiency, poor pepper quality, and reduce the rescue of the operation. The present work aims to solve these problems with the development of a machine for threshing and drying of peppers. These aims are help farmers, to enhance production- and post-production of the pepper industry at all scales of production-from small scale individual farmers to agribusinesses. The researcher used different data analysis methods, which included, pie charts, bar charts, fishbone diagrams and root cause analysis to accomplish these aims. These were used to gain insight on what the current issues were and how the new machine should be designed and built. Results from the pepper threshing and drying tests are encouraging. Researchers were satisfied with the machine itself, claiming that it separates pepper pods and corn easily. The machine also successfully decreased moisture levels, which were corroborated by readings using a moisture meter. The positive results have led to positive feedback and a high probabilty of recommendations of the effectiveness of that machine.
