A Design Of Hybrid Solar-Piezoelectric Utilizing Water Drops For Street Lamps In Barangay Pandakaki Tayabas City, Quezon
Area of Research
Abstract
The process of generating electricity today is highly complex. Many sources of energy
are now developing; sources today are implementing renewable production of electricity. As the
world progresses, the researchers have come up with a system that is not dependable for the ongrid street light system.
The researcher introduced the Hybrid Solar and Piezoelectric System (HSPS) at Brgy.
Pandakaki, Tayabay City, Quezon. The study focuses on the hybrid of both main components,
which are solar and piezoelectric. The piezoelectric transducer utilizes the water droplets; water
from the irrigation will supply the water to the container, which was then processed into droplets.
Barangay Pandakaki in Tayabas City is the target location of the study. The said
barangay has an irrigation system that supports the proposed study. Residents at the said location
approved the proposed study. HSPS supported the locale in terms of illumination in the streets of
the barangay.
The prototype undergoes a functionality and efficiency test. Through this test, the
residents will eliminate their apprehension about illumination challenges and safety in their
barangay. HSPS will provide a solution to the insufficient lighting that the locale is currently
experiencing.
As for the result, non-probability purposive sampling technique was employed, along
with site inspections, research, interviews, and testing in which the target respondents or the
residents of the said locale supported as they are the ones who will benefit from the illumination
project, adding a sense of safety and comfort when using the path at night. These methods were utilized to gather findings and essential information and data for the evaluation and testing process.
The prototype of this study adheres to the standard provided by the Philippine Electrical Code. The computations of different specifications in which the value is needed in such applicants was based and supported by the theoretical concept by other studies and related literatures such as books.
This study gathered essential information regarding the factors influencing energy generation using piezoelectric transducers. It also achieved the desired outcomes in terms of functionality and affectiveness. The researcer are confident that the potential of this project will soon be realized invarious applications, positioning piezoelectric technology technology as a new and alternative energy source.
