Motivation of Tiktok Viewing and Perceived Impact to Quality of Sleep

Abstract

This is one of the numerous reasons why a significant portion of the population struggles to get enough sleep. This study utilized a quantitative methodology and descriptive-correlational design. As respondents, students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation participated in the study. These students were selected for this position based on a random selection from the applicant population as a whole. This study aims to identify the factors that have contributed to the rise in the number of individuals who do not get enough or quality sleep, as well as the potential biological, psychological, and social effects of sleep deprivation on the participants. In addition, this study examined the factors that have contributed to the rise in the number of people who do not get enough or adequate sleep. This study revealed that (1) The majority of TikTok users are females between the ages of 18 and 21, as indicated by the study. (2) the majority of TikTok users spent between 1 and 4 hours per day using the application. (3) The outcome reveals the informational, personal identity, social interaction, and entertainment motivations for using the Tiktok application. (4) This study also demonstrated that Tiktok viewing has an affect on an individual's physical, mental, social, and emotional state, (5) the majority of respondents indicated that college of arts and sciences students have poor sleep quality based on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and lastly(6) The data revealed that there is significant relationship between the motivation for tiktok viewing and impacts related to quality of sleep.
