Quality of Implementation of Crime Prevention Programs: Basis for Enhanced Crime Prevention Programs

Abstract
The crime prevention program is usually not the concern of everyone. Crime prevention is a series of strategies done by the national government to the local government unit to combat crimes and ensure the safety of the community. These strategies may include PNP mobile or beat patrol, community-partnership, information dissemination, and others. This study focused on crime prevention in a city utilizing descriptive methods. It determined the crime prevention activities that the Philippine National Police and local police officers implemented and the challenges encountered in the implementation of the crime prevention activities that the Philippine National Police and local police officers implemented and the challengers encountered in the implementation of the crime prevention activities. The study involved 30 participants composed of 4 staff and 26 Police Officers from the Lucena City Police Station. Results showed that the Police Personnel should continue to do barangay visitations regularly conducting the following activities: regular patrolling, conducting BPATS training, and crime prevention seminars. It also showed the problems encountered in implementing these crime prevention programs, additional but adequate crime prevention equipment and strengthening crime prevention program.
