A Tracer Study of Accountancy Graduates from AY 2011-2015

Abstract
Change is inevitable in the accounting profession. To experience growth, accountants
need to understand the trends and take proper steps for better compliance and decisionmaking. Accountants who can adapt with these changes are the ones better suited to
experience success in 2018. Therefore, this study was sought to determine the programs’
effectiveness relevant to the work of the Accountancy graduates of Manuel S. Enverga
University Foundation, Lucena City who graduated from year 2011 to 2015. Furthermore, this
tracer study would also investigate the program’s effectiveness relative to the graduate’s
practice of their profession in terms of general knowledge, information technology,
organizational and business knowledge and accounting and finance knowledge as well as the
relevance of their acquired skillset in their current work with regards to intellectual, interpersonal
and communication. This study also investigates if there are significant relationship between the
background characteristics of the respondents and their perceived competency standards and
skillset. That serves as basis of matching curriculum with industry requirements.
