Hyflex Learning Modality: Its Impact to Criminologists Licensure Examination

Abstract
This research aimed to explore the individual experiences and challenges faced by graduates during the implementation of the Hyflex learning modality, as well as its impact on their board exam results. The study employed mixed methods, utilizing a phenomenological approach for the qualitative method, and a documentary analysis was conducted for the quantitative method to determine the final grades of graduates in their academic performance and the results of licensure examination, whther they had passed or failed. The main participants in this study were the criminology graduates' batch 2021-2022 at the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation in Lucena City. The finding revealed that criminology graduates' experience with the HyFlex learning modality showed varying familiarity levels and opinions. While most were acquainted with its hybrid nature, some initially unfamiliar graduates found its advantages. all agreed on certain criminology subjects being suitable for online instruction. The effectiveness of HyFlex learning hinged on student participation and instructional approaches. Despite positive and negative aspects, graduates acknowledged the flexibility of HyFlex, aiding effective study management. However, dissatisfied graduates felt poorly prepared for their course, attributing it to limited face-to-face interactions, Academic performance revealed academic excellence, but board exam results were mixed, emphasizing the need to bridhe the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills. Recommendations include assessing HyFlex implementation to ensure students' successful preparation for board exams and ongoing education. The major final output of this study was an infographic specifically designed for criminology students, providing practical guidance to navigate the complexities and opportunities of hyflex mode. The infographic will provide readers with practical tips, examples, and guidance on how crimonology students can effectively manage the integration of in-person and online components within the HyFlex model.
