Use of EON XR Virtual Reality Application for Enhancing Grade 8 Physics Learning

Completed2023

Abstract

This study explored the integration of EON XR virtual reality (VR) applications into grade 8 physics education, assessing content, quality, and effectiveness through a quasi-experimental approach. This aimed to analyze the impact of VR applications on junior high school students using pre- and post-tests, surveys, and interviews. Employing a quasi-experimental design, this research utilized pre- and post-tests, surveys, and interviews to gauge the influence of EON XR VR applications on Grade 8 Physics education. Emphasis was placed on assessing content quality and effectiveness, highlighting VR's potential in transforming secondary science education. The findings underscored the positive influence of EON XR VR applications on Grade 8 Physics education. Notable outcomes included increased effectiveness, heightened student engagement, improved instructional materials, and more effective teaching methodologies compared to conventional approaches. The study underscored the role of EON XR in fostering a more conducive learning environment. Specific benefits identified included improved goal setting, content-objective alignment, and enriched learning activities. Statistical analyses revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, signifying the effectiveness of EON XR in positively impacting student learning outcomes in Grade 8 Physics at a 0.05 level of significance. This study demonstrates the constructive impact of integrating EOX XR VR applications into Grade 8 Physics education. It highlights the the potential for VR to improve understanding and retention of subject matter and elevate the overall quality of education in secondary science. Recommendations were made for refining content quality and further integrating VR technology into educational curricula to optimize learning outcomes in physics education.
