My body my freedom: Chastity before marriage in the perspectives of Gen X and Gen Z

Abstract

The particular research sought the perception of females in each generation (Gen X and Gen Z) about my body and my freedom in relation to chastity before marriage. The data collected were clustered according to their survey components and independently computed to ensure objectivity. The study used a quantitative research method and employed an online survey approach to chastity before marriage, with 206 mothers chosen randomly from a broad population in Quezon province. The 104 came from Generation X, and Generation Z had 102. The study found that most respondents were between 18 and 22, with generation X accounting for over half of all respondents. Virginity was seen as a personal identity by women of all cultures. According to the data, a family has the most significant influence on the respondents' sexual experiences and opinions. The finding results that a gift is what respondents believe in chastity due to comparing respondents' thoughts on chastity. They channeled their virginity emotions into something concrete that they could present to their loves. Chastity and psychological and social conceptions of marriage and bodily freedom have a strong relationship. It is a social concept that is deeply embedded in societies worldwide. The study revealed that psychology and social nations of marriage and body freedom influenced one's perception of chastity, which encompasses gifts, stigma, and acts of worship. These results lend ideas for future researchers to study the relationship between individualist versus collectivist cultural nation and other socio-cultural aspects such as media and gender roles. Furthermore, women who place cognitive value on appearance, regardless of cultural background, may develop unfavorable opinions of their bodies and the self. However, significant discrepancies in how women in both cultural groups appear in self-schema must be discovered and its contribution to the advancement of civilization and the growth of knowledge.
