Reciprocity in Parent-Teen Relationships and their Pschological Well-being amidst the Pandemic

Abstract
The relationship between parents and teenagers had been dramatically affected by the pandemic's sudden change in the environment. It affects their usual activites and even their psychological well-being. A moderate reciprocal relationship plays a significant role in maintaining the support exchange betweek both reciprocators. This study investigated the influence of reciprocity of parent-teen relationships on their psychological well-being during the pandemic. The researcher used a descriptive correlational strategy to encapsulate answers based on the problems. The study's respondents were the Mothers and senior high school students from National High School; purposive sampling was used to select the respondents. In assessing the psychological well-being status of parents and adolescents, a standaridzed psychological well-being scale by Carol Ryff has been used to answer this problem. Moreover, the researcher conducted surveys to identify the impact of a pandemic on teen students' academic activities and mothers' household activities and examine the reciprocal relationship between the parent-teen relationships during the pandemic. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to determine the impact of the pandemic on the respondents and the reciprocal relationship of both parents and teenagers. It was found from this study that thoujgh the pandemic had significantly impacted the respondents' activities, both of the respondents had good psychological well-being status during these times since it was found that mothers and teenagers have a substantial reciprocal relationship. Thus, the hypothesis was accepted that there is a significant relationship between the reciprocal relationship of parent-teen relationships and their psychological well-being This study's results can be used to design a proposed psychological relationship education program to enhance and preserve the role of reciprocal relationships and their psychological well-being.
